Financial Support, Childcare and Accessibility
We are working to make the conference accessible, diverse and inclusive. We will have:
- wheelchair-accessible venues (but not the after-party – see below)
- subtitles in the two largest rooms
- COVID air filters in all meeting rooms
- a quiet room
- parts of the conference which can be joined online.
- a team of volunteers on the day who can help out, for example with finding rooms
- to keep the event safe for everyone, we encourage all attendees to take a COVID test before coming, and to wear a mask if you are comfortable doing so
We recognise that there also are financial barriers to taking part – particularly for those travelling furthest – and have a limited budget to financially support attendees.
The deadline has now passed to book places for free, professional childcare at the conference. However, we can still support you to make your own arrangements. That could include a range of things from paying a childminder to providing some money so that a family member can take your kids out for the day.
If you need financial support, including for childcare please complete and return this form as soon as possible.
If you have other accessibility needs, please let us know on the form when you book your ticket.
More information on the accessibility of the venues, where available, is given below.
Venues
We have two venues for the Conference.
Conference:
Main Venue: Central Hall, Oldham Street, Manchester, M1 1JQ.
Also includes a room which can be used as a prayer room, and a quiet room. Wheelchair-accessible and has accessible toilets.
Second Venue: Britannia Sachas Hotel, 12 Tib St, Back Piccadilly, Manchester, M4 1SH.
0.1 miles from Central Hall. Their accessibility statement is available here.
The after party will be at Joshua Brooks, 106 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6NG.
We are using the ground floor and when we booked it we were told it was accessible. However, we have now inspected the venue and we are sorry to report that this is untrue. There is no step-free access and the toilets are not wide enough to accommodate most wheelchairs. If there is anything our team can do to accommodate your access despite being let down by the venue, please let us know as soon as possible.
